SIX EATING ESTABLISHMENTS are available for a variety of tastes and entertainment. THE ELDORA PUBLIC LIBRARY, newly built in 1999, is a valuable asset to families and the community alike with its public access to computers and a great collection of literature, in addition to a meeting room facility and educational programs for children. THE GRAND THEATER, refurbished and operated by volunteers, is a magificent retro-style theater that shows current popular movies nightly , with a weekday matinees, for only minimal admission! THE ELDORA CLINIC AND OTHER DOCTORS provide convenience and peace of mind to Eldora residents in need of healthcare. TWO NURSING HOME FACILITIES are also available for elderly loved ones. KDAO RADIO and the HARDIN COUNTY INDEX NEWSPAPER keep Eldora residents informed of local happenings, as well as national issues. EDUCATION     Education in Eldora includes the Eldora-New Providence Elementary School which includes Pre-Kindergarden through fifth grade students. Students in grades 6-8 attend school in nearby Hubbard at South Hardin Middle School through a whole-grade sharing program. South Hardin High School is located in Eldora and was awarded a bronze medal by US News and World Report as part of "2009 America's Best High Schools" with less than 2000 schools nationally and 52 in Iowa. A 11:1 STUDENT/TEACHER RATIO creates an exellent educational experience, in addition to the extracurricular activities available to children of all ages and abilities. The high school, built in 1993, is a fantastic facility, with a modern media center and large number of computers throughout the school. Additionally, the school houses a new state-of-the-art auditorium and is surrounded by top-notch athletic facilities including an all-weather track.

RECREATION PINE LAKE COUNTRY CLUB, open to the public, was once voted the nation's best 9 hole golf courses by the National Golf Association. Both challenging and picturesque, the course is one of Eldora's best kept secrets. With golf events and social events throughout the year, affordable green fees and memberships, and a "walk-on" policy, this club is a great focal point for socialization and recreation.   ELDORA AQUATIC CENTER, newly built in 2007, is a $ 2.7MM pool and recreation area that offers a fantastic recreational opportunity for patrons of all ages and abilites. This state-of-the-art facility offers 5 slides, zero-depth entry and a current channel. TWISTER PARK is nestled amongst great oak tress and plays host to several recreational facilities. "Twister Park", an enormous wooden playground is a dreamland for kids, with its many bridges, swings and slides. This park also conveniently has the Eldora Aquatic Center, Little League ball diamond and a 4 court, lighted tennis facility, newly built in 1999. DEER PARK overlooks the scenic Iowa River and attracts many residents with its unique playground equipment, nature trails and fenced deer and goat habitat. THE HARDIN COUNTY FAIRGROUNDS showcases the annual county fair, with its livestock and 4H shows. THE PINE LAKE WILDLIFE AND ARCHERY CLUB, Iowa's olderst private conservation club, invites its members to enjoy 40 timbered acres, in addition to hosting well-known archery events for people fo all ages.
