EDUCATION With total enrollment of 749 students, the Eldora-New Providence School System has and elementary, middle-school and high school, all within Eldora city limits. A 12:1 STUDENT/TEACHER RATIO creates an exellent educational experience, in addition to the extracurricular activities available to children of all ages and abilities. The high school, built in 1993, is a fantastic facility, with a modern media center and large number of computers throughout the school. Additionally, the school houses a new state-of-the-art auditorium and is surrounded by top-notch athletic facilities including an all-weather track.

RECREATION PINE LAKE COUNTRY CLUB, open to the public, was once voted the nation's best 9 hole golf courses by the National Golf Association. Both challenging and picturesque, the course is one of Eldora's best kept secrets. With golf events and social events throughout the year, affordable green fees and memberships, and a "walk-on" policy, this club is a great focal point for socialization and recreation. TWISTER PARK/POOL PARK is nestled amongst great oak tress and plays host to several recreational facilities. "Twister Park", an enormous wooden playground is a dreamland for kids, with its many bridges, swings and slides. This park also conveniently has the public pool, Little League ball diamond and a 4 court, lighted tennis facility, newly built in 1999. DEER PARK overlooks the scenic Iowa River and attracts many residents with its unique playground equipment, nature trails and fenced deer and goat habitat. THE HARDIN COUNTY FAIRGROUNDS showcases the annual county fair, with its livestock and 4H shows. THE PINE LAKE WILDLIFE AND ARCHERY CLUB, Iowa's olderst private conservation club, invites its members to enjoy 40 timbered acres, in addition to hosting well-known archery events for people fo all ages.
